Dan, you're too harsh on yourself. Getting a 2 wheel drive pusher like Hogi to go as far through the competition as it does is no mean feat!

I hope it will be like the one at AWS 44 - that was quite a nice arrangement and saved me from going out a couple of times!

Yes, it'll be in the same configuration as last time, with the side walls and the corner bits.

RE: Arenas; Pete, could you bring your full one please, as we'll need it for running the fleas and the warm-up side by side in the morning. Regarding the nano arena, does it have it's own battlebox, or does it need to go inside another one?

i could try and find a plastic box to put over my arena which should be safe for 25 gram robots. i know that's what rory has done with his. my arena has corner walls and side walls so the type of competition would be much the same as the ants. it's really no bother at all if you do want me to bring it.

Hello. I have some noob questions!

1. Is this event still on the 1st Nov and if so is it still too late to sign up?
2. What time are you starting in the morning? If I leave Blackpool early enough I reckon I can do Coventry and back in a day with AWS inbetween lol.
3. Can I bring a friend as the usual Skipdiving team are on holiday?
4. Need a name for robot, any suggestions?
5. Can you park at the event, if not how much is it roughly and does anyone have any idea how far away the parking is from the event etc.?
6. Will I be laughed at if my 5 yr old has put Disney Cars stickers all over my robot?
7. If my robot is largely taped and tie wrapped together can I still enter it?
8. If I make it, shall I bring an extension cable as per the usual robot events for charging and stuff etc?

Thanks in advance, Dangerous Dave.

usually the AWS sign up starts at 10, competition starting around 11ish.

as for taping and tying your robot together, of course you can still enter it as long as it conforms to the rules ( link on first page of this thread ).

disney stickers: the antweight mob are a very friendly bunch you know :) . that's one of the reasons i love this sport. when i first started i used put all sorts of colours and drawings on my robots and nobody laughed.

deffinitely not too late to sign up, in fact a lot of people havn't yet.

i'm not sure about parking and what not, Scott would have to tell you that. hope that's helpful. see you there dude! :) :) :)
