Re: New Featherweights
Did those replacement drill gear plates arrive okay Andy?
I'm a bit more cautious about assuming all Royal Mail items arrive when expected since a parcel I sent to someone back in April never arrived and only just got returned to me yesterday.

Looks brilliant. I love the action of the weapon.

Re: New Featherweights
Been a while since we did any work to our feathers so it's time for some new ones. These are being made from most of the parts of Whirlwind and Aftershock 2.
On the left we will have Shockwave 2- a FP flipper using Whirlwinds 60mm bore, 80mm stroke ram with a new larger buffer tank and will have a new frame to support it- drive as before with 2, 18v drills running on 24v with a Scorpion XL. If the new version doesn't work then everything can be refitted into a slightly modified Whirlwind.
On the right will be Aftershock 3- which will be very similar but using the 32mm bore, 60mm stroke ram, slightly smaller buffer than Shockwave. Drive will be 2, 18v drills running at 24v with a Sabretooth Controller.
Shockwave 2 will be making its first appearance at Worthing with Aftershock 3 planned for Kidderminster

Re: New Featherweights
Aftershock 3 buffer looks interesting
So does the inlet for the valve connect directly into the cylinder or is it just the camera angle?
Looks like a modified paintball cylinder for flow in at the top and out at the bottom?

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left

OK, the feather is more or less finished (just the paint job to go). Note that the claw parts are on the way but may not be fitted in time for Worthing.

And if you're wondering what it's named after: http://www.nawwal.org/~mrgoff/photojour ... migan2.jpg It's a mountain dwelling bird that changes it's plumage throughout the year. The bird on the front of "The famous grouse" whisky bottle is in fact a ptarmigan. Pointless fact of the day.

Re: New Featherweights
Looks really good Jonathan, very nicely made does it run inverted or are you planning on being able to self right/being self righted?

Re: New Featherweights
No it isn't invertable unfortunately as the self righting was the job of the claw. Chances that I will be able to get it self righting in time are slim but I'll try
