Looking good Jonathan, very nicely designed. The only thing I can see that might compromise the 'combat legal' aspect of it is the power on/off point.

From the pictures it looks like it is just a switch? Do you have a removable link situated in another part of the robot? If not, and your switch is the only way of turning the power in your robot on and off, then that won't pass a tech-check at a FW event. You have to have a plug/connector/loop of wire that can be physically removed from the robot as a means of isolating power.

Andy, good stuff. Glad Royal Mail didn't become Royal Fail for the second time in two weeks.

Sorry I haven't answered the questions but I've been on holiday. Yes it does have a removeable link on the other side of the robot which is protected with a panel of aluminium similar to the on/off switch which is easy to remove (as seen here http://i883.photobucket.com/albums/ac35 ... to0085.jpg ). Also, I don't know how much it weighs both with or without the claw as I haven't been able to order the parts in time. I will weigh it sooner or later but am pretty sure it's not more than 13kg. :)

Random bit of trivia for you; that chunk taken out of the wood at the back was courtesy of Hornet 2. There's probably a video of it on Youtube somewhere, but I can't be bothered to look :P
