hi, im hoping to try featherwights, but i nead a base to work on, does anyone have any old/ useles robots?

well, i can go into a bit more detail with this but here is the bare bones:
for a nice cheap drive you can use 12v cordless drills, which are not £12 each
for the esc, i recomend a scorpion xl, a nice little contoler which is about £100
wheels, you get 100mm blue wheels from robochalange that screw right onto your drills, £20 a pair
for the transmitter and reciver you probably want to use spectum, i use a dx5e and its perfect, £50 tx, £15 rx
armour wise i recomend HDPE (or nylon if your budget will streach) 10mm + thick idealy, about £50 a sheet
battereis and charger you are looking at about £70 ish
thats basicly what i use in my feather minus the lifter and hardox

Au Contraire, my batteries cost nothing, I just used the ones that came with the drills. They work fine for a robot that's not expected to do wonders.
