Antsstare featherweight version

Post by D0ntstare »

Hello, I was looking at the feather weights today and thought I may put together plan for making a feather weight version of ants stare, however I have a few questions,

First off
would 12mm polycarb be an ample body armour to use?

Second what would be a good material to use as a chassis but for a cheapish price?

Third, Could someone help me with the confusing jumble about the pneumatic side of things, is it easy to do? do you need prior knowledge? is it expensive ect....

Fourth, Is there another way of bending and welding plastic other than an expensive industrial machine? I.E. a blow torch or something similar?

and last but not least would trolley wheels work as good reliable wheels on a feather weight?

Thanks for reading

Best regards

i'd recommend using hdpe armour 1cm+ and build on a base made out of 4mm aluminium or hardox. i weld polycarb with a blowtorch but i don't know how well it would work on polycarb/hdpe that thick. as for pneumatics i can point you to this:

i think team hydra have some rams for sale but not completely sure.

good luck with your featherweight :) i'm saving up to build mine at the moment.
