6wd

Post by danjr1 »

What's the general opinion on 6wd? I'm thinking if the wheelbase between the 6 wheels is as close as it can be and the track is fairly wide, the effect on turning will be reduced?

I am not a fan of 6wd, mainly because antweight wheels slip before they stall. However i don't think anyone has ever tried 6WD. Personally I think 2 motors and tracks would be more effective on weight, but more work.

The turning will be slightly slower because of the sideways effect of the front and back wheels. Look at videos of pete w's tracked robots and you won't notice much difference.
