Since I've been out of robotics for a while, I don't really recognize this "dual rate function". Tried a quick search and what I can see is that you get more out of a servos movement? Please update me if I'm wrong.
That is about it. :)
The dual rate function limits the travel of aileron, elevator and rudder.Effectively, when activated,it would make the robot slower to drive.Handy for a beginner with a fast robot, maybe??( Not that useful to us,but very handy with a feisty helicopter buzzing around your head!!) :)

My transmitter arrived today and it looks really nice, for what i paid for it it seems to be well worth it. it is rather plasticy but seems to be quite nicely made inside. im a little confused about the binding but hopefully i should be able to handle it (it says hold down the left stick, but for me it seems to only beep when i hold down the right stick?) yeah, it seems really nice :-)

When I power mine on with the left stick held in,I get a constant beep, and the led is constant, until I let go of the stick. Then the led blinks, with no sound, while waiting to bind.

decided to spend left over xmas money on some 2.4 radio gear :D

got a dx5e from ebay for ?39.99
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spektrum-DX5e-5Ch ... 223wt_1062

and a couple of compatible receivers from robotbirds ?8.75, probably not the smallest or lightest available but about the same size as the hitec HFS- 05MS and 4.4g which is about half the weight :o
http://robotbirds.com/catalog/product_i ... ts_id=5883

the mixing in the dx5e only powers the motors at half speed when going full speed forward, so it can speed one up to turn, but this isn't a problem for me as my robots were all way too fast (especially R.O.N.N.Y) to drive at full speed so this makes it more manageable :)

Just thought I'd point out hobbyking are offering free postage on the orange 4ch rx

EDIT just realised you have to be a platinum member to qualify for this, apparently I am? No idea how I achieved that though...
