Re: Rule 2j - name labels (and typographical error with rule
Joey has objected to this rule pretty much every month since he started, claiming it has no purpose or validity. Every time, certain people suggest that for them it does have purpose and validity. Therefore the rule stays. That's the end of it. I personally don't find it so hard to identify every robot, but some people do, and the name rule seems to help them. The rule states that "ants should be CLEARLY labelled", therefore all this braille/Japanese/whatever nonsense is also rejected. Objecting to a rule that takes no effort to follow, doesn't effect a robot's performance in any way, shape or form and helps some people keep track of proceedings is just silly. You may as well object to robots that are painted yellow or robots with googly eyes
No offense meant to Joey obviously, but I think you should just let this one go bud.

One case where it would have been very useful is on your chicken robot.
Had it been labelled as a cluster I may have realised it was before the start of the battle and rethought my tactics and gone for the small walking part first.
Then if my robot flew out of the arena with yours on impact or as happend broke yours but was jammed up by your tyre I could have won the fight.

As a new antweighter There's probably a very good reason against it but why don't we stick a label on the fighters own side of the arena that's labelled so the commentators and announcers can identify without having written on the robots

Considring we get through hundreds of fights a day with most lasting under 30 seconds it would just be hassle to keep changing the labels!Occashokka wrote:As a new antweighter There's probably a very good reason against it but why don't we stick a label on the fighters own side of the arena that's labelled so the commentators and announcers can identify without having written on the robots
