Origami

Post by BeligerAnt »

No, not making swans out of paper napkins...

My autonomous minisumo bot is now happily running around and mostly staying in the arena.
At the moment, only the front edge sensors are being used. The rear edge sensors work OK, just need some software to stop the robot reversing out of the arena.
The opponent detection still needs some work.

Still need to feed it more rice and sushi as the whole thing weighs in at 380g and the extra software won't add much! :)

So why "Origami"? Of course it's the Japanese art of paper folding. Since this robot is built mostly from art card it seemed somehow appropriate...

All systems go! :D
It can now follow me around the kitchen in attack mode, *and* stay in the arena in hunting mode.
It is a bit short-sighted, and can only "see" an opponent about 100mm away. It is as yet undefeated against inanimate objects!
