It should all be ok, except it's 35MHz, and robots should be on 40MHz. you should be ok to just put 40mhz crystals in it, but reception may not be too good.

Hi and welcome.
I've never had a spinner that good! Pete W's will go through most things though.
Registration for the RRC's is on Simon's website, registering crystals and such is all part of it. Think the last date is usually about a week beforehand.
Crystals plug into the transmitter and reciever very easily. When you get your radio gear, you'll see where they go.

You can get 40mhz crystal from Sussex Model Centre. Make sure they are FM Single Conversion, others won't work. They're easy enough to plug in, you'll see when you buy them.

The best thing to get would be a hitec feather, cheap and light. You should be able to get it from most model shops.

Hitec feather's aint being made in 40mhz anymore, they're hard as golden trees to track down. The next-one-up hitec size is good though

Yes, that is a bit heavy :P if you can't get a feather, go for the R114F: http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=805
