Where can you still get NiMh Batteries?

Post by petec »

Suggestions welcomed. I'm trying to fill an order at the moment and no where seems to stock the old NiMh batteries any more - at least not in sizes you can use for antweights. I've tried Maplin, Technobots, Overlander, ....any other suggestions?

A quick Google for "2/3 AAA NiMH" turned up this one...

Looks promising, but I've never heard of or dealt with the company before. Caveat emptor!

BTW, are you in a position to lift-share to Banbury? Email or PM to discuss...

Strikalit don't seem to have anything suitable. I did find a site with smaller 250mAh cells - they seemed to be close enough at 7g. I'll have a look at the one of Gary's - not seen that before.

Gary, drop me a PM to discuss travel.

I guess since they're a wholesaler they only send by overnight courier...
I'm surprised they didn't insist on a ?30 minimum order too! (And a handling fee!) :x

The search goes on I assume? Carry on Googling! (There could be a film title in there...)

What ones are you looking for exactly? I would have though the 4.8v 300mah from strikalite would have been suitable for an ant?

Yes I use those Strikalite ones, and although you have to solder your own leads on they are a perfect replacement for the old Overlander 2/3 AAA 300mAh.

you could try rapid electronics, they only sell single battrys but them you can solder up your own pack and that way you can get it the shape you want. i dunno what p+p is like but its next working day delivery i think.
