Hello,
Please can someone share some information on how to attach a cutting disk, milling disk or a custom made blade (either just a metal ruler with a hole or one made from scratch) to a brushless motor?
Additionally, I need to get some acetate strips or whatever may be used on a flipper to help it get under other robots.
I would be thankful for any relevant info.

Easy one first: Any acetate or plastic film will do for the front edge of a flipper. Old-school OHP film if you can find some, or any thin, reasonably stiff (for its thickness) film will do.

For spinners, the best solution is to fit the blade to the case of the motor rather than the shaft (assuming you have an outrunner type of brushless).
If you have a thick blade, say 4+ mm, drill a hole in the middle just bigger than the motor body. Then cross-drill and tap in a couple of places to use M2 grub screws to lock the blade onto the motor.
If you want to use a thin blade you will need some sort of adapter/collar to fit to the motor then screw the blade to it. Experience suggests that you will need several stainless steel screws and M2 is a bit on the small side...

Whatever you do, make sure you test it in a safe environment. You only have one pair of eyes... Small pieces can fly a long way if/when it all goes wrong.

Easiest way to mount a blade is to buy one of these motors, then bolt the blade directly to it. That's how quite a few very good spinners have been built recently. http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/st ... Search=dys

My blades have all been so far hand cut from either 2mm stainless steel or 3.2mm Hardox (not advised). The 2mm stainless works well but does need sharpening occasionally.
