Sourcing 4mm Polycarbonate

Post by Rapidrory »

Looking to get ~5 square meters (1 for the roof, 4 for the sides) of 4mm polycarbonate to build an arena battle box for the AWS I'm planning to hold in the summer (waiting on dates, probably early July). Does anyone know of a good/cheap source of it? Current prices I have are about £200 looking on eBay, which I'm sure can be improved upon..

Hmm, ok I can cut it down to about ~£120 (before shipping) if I get 4 sheets of 1000mm x 750mm for £21 from http://www.plastock.co.uk/display-plast ... ate-sheet/

and a sheet of 1000mm x 1000mm for the roof for £38 http://www.polycarbonateshop.co.uk/Soli ... nate_Sheet

I got mine from here.

I designed the arena around the size of sheet and didn't need to cut any although I had to join two for the top.

I believe some people have had success contacting local councils and getting hold of the plastic from old bus stops/shelters. I think most of them are made from polycarb.
