I've gone a completely different way to everyone else... My servo arm isn't actually linked to my flipper (Like example B on Gary's website). The flipper can pivot freely and the servo arm pushes against it from underneath. It is returned to its original place by a piece of elasticated thread.

I find it's much easier to build and more reliable (not lost a single servo in Cosmos for over 2 years and they're HPF X running on 7.4v). But the down side is it does have to fight against the elastic, but that seems negligible.

my flipperbot is simply a servo mounted on top held on and protected by a hdpe box with the flipper blade connected directly to the servo horn. i believe this is probably the most straightforward way of doing it and my one gets very good leverage making self righting a lot easier, however this design does tend to suffer from the shock of spinner impacts as servo horn are liable to crack, snap or shatter if exposed to such direct impacts.
