lipo?

lipo?

hey all, i blew up a lipo at burgess hill the other day and i was told you cut the leads off and bare the terminal and put the lipo in a bucket of salty water, this i have done
my question is, when is it safe to take it out and what do i then do with it?

normally about 24hours to be certain

Discharge the pack down to zero voltage using a motor, light bulb,(12v car bulb), etc. Next gently puncture the outer cases of the cells (knife blade attached to a stick,maybe??)and let it sit in saltwater overnight. Remove 24 hours later, wrap it up in a plastic bag and toss in the trash."

its been there since sunday is ok to take out now

hmmm well sunday + a day = monday and today is wednesday :lol:

take it out, puncture cells, bin it!

You should not bin old batteries but take them to a recycling centre. :roll:

There is always a first time for everything.
I get as far as collecting the old batteries and I now have a large Quality Street tin full but always seem to forget them when I got to the dump.
