I don't think you'll find a motor with an optimum voltage of less than 7.4v. In terms of batteries, these ones are used quite a lot...

Micron do a nice selection of very lightweight Hyperion lipos, I use the 120mah and 180mah 2S ones in all my ants and I'd advise at least the latter if you're going to be running a spinner. Micron also are really good at delivering things quickly
Chargers...if you can find a place that sells the Propeak Quattro chargers they're very simple to use and work well, you will need to get an extra 12v power supply if you purchase the basic model though (there is a Plus with a built in power supply).
Lipos do need looking after, the important thing with them is to never short circuit them and don't drain them too low as the first results in smoke and flames, whilst the second results in a deceased battery pack.
