A 4 inch blade sounds pretty hefty, will you be able to fit it on?

It's roughly that big
But I'm thinking of using the old set square that came with it
It's like max of 2 inches

can anyone recommend either a cheap brushless/brushed motor that will run on a 6v nimh
or a cheap lightweight 7.v lipo and charger

I don't think you'll find a motor with an optimum voltage of less than 7.4v. In terms of batteries, these ones are used quite a lot...

Micron do a nice selection of very lightweight Hyperion lipos, I use the 120mah and 180mah 2S ones in all my ants and I'd advise at least the latter if you're going to be running a spinner. Micron also are really good at delivering things quickly :)

Chargers...if you can find a place that sells the Propeak Quattro chargers they're very simple to use and work well, you will need to get an extra 12v power supply if you purchase the basic model though (there is a Plus with a built in power supply).

Lipos do need looking after, the important thing with them is to never short circuit them and don't drain them too low as the first results in smoke and flames, whilst the second results in a deceased battery pack.

Hope all that helps :)

480mah may be a bit large but 180mah is ideal.

if it's a lipo charger then yes. 180mah should be fine for a spinner but i wouldn't go any lower. i've got a couple of 19g 300mah ones could probably sell you if you want
