2mm will see off most spinners but if you are still set on 6wd try 1mm, i did and it was fine
i use a very specalist glue which has to be heated before use the comercail term for this is:
"hot glue" that and fold and bol will be good you can also use araldite

Polycarbonate is a little difficult to glue successfully. Nuts & bolts are better. Superglue weakens polycarbonate over time, so best avoided. Epoxy works OK, remember to roughen up the surface of the plastic first to give the glue something to grip on to.
Shape is in some ways more important than thickness. 1mm will stand up to most spinners if it doesn't present an edge for the spinner to catch. Conversely, many spinners will make short work of even 2mm if they get a decent angle of attack.
