We should have a golden oldies competition where you can only use servos, no LiPos and no polycarbonate or metal. I think that Pants would still be compliant!

RONNY at AWS8:

The current RONNY shares only the name, battery pack and crystal with the original!

How things have changed over the last 5 years. I think Odyssey is the least changed of the "old school" robots still running, even Pants has gone to speed-hacked servos.

are you kidding. Oddessy at aws 1 looked completly different. I would say pants as the ant which has not changed at all apart from being speed hacked.

Ahh yes, I remember the time when I designed Void on paper and bodged it all together with lots of hot glue (Clicky) :D How times do indeed change. Nowadays everything is designed, redesigned and redesigned probably 2-3 times at the minimum in CAD (The reason you havnt seen Zenith at an event for a while is that I'm still redesigning it - have 8 fully completed CADs of different designs thats have never seen the light of day. I have one I think I'm happy with now though ;)), before it's machined...and I'm looking into getting CNC early next year... ><

Does it make my robots any better? Not really :P Still havn't won that AWS trophy I crave so. Does it make building them more fun? IMO, yes.
