This is a 2minute drawing of a robot setup. Reffeing to basic ant package, is this correct? Would it work?

Thanx :)

hi renalt

in your drawing you will also need the receiver between the battery and speedcontroller

Yes, I think you'll have two leads coming from the speed controller and these will need to plug into channels 1 and 2 of the receiver.

You will also need matching receiver and transmitter crystals.

the last one is correct. You only need a speed controller if you use a regular motor and not a servo motor. A servo motor already has electronics on board to accept the receiver signal and convert it.

not true tom, servos have been modified for speed. Some are easier to do then others. I strongly suggest that new robots try a set up with servos just to get to grips with the electronics.

oh sorry for the false information i never knew it was possible to modify for speed on servos i thought it was only posible on a few makes of gear motors.

because of my budget all my ants use servos so thats why we are called team tortoise!!!!!!!!!!!! id you where wondering

servos unmodified for speed are very power full if you can get the power down though
