So after a heck of an event up at the Sheffield roboteers society I’ve got back into doing more ‘proper’ ants not just a bunch of components cable tied onto a board and called a day - I’m gonna post those here for people to mock when they explode or something idk
I’m looking at doing a really over the top silly full body spinner, normally I’d use a redcon motor for that but I understand they’re discontinued now... what’s the next best thing for a robot that’s going to have close to 100g of spinning mass? (I’m ballparking that but it’s gonna be at least 75g I’d imagine)
Second thing, print materials - I’m not sure on a design just yet but if I’m adding steel/titanium teeth onto a rotating shell for the spinning element, what’s the best material to go for? Ideally I’d probably do a lathed hdpe bowl of sorts but I don’t have access to such nice things unfortunately
