A-Z antweight list

Post by Remote-Controlled Dave »

Hey all.
I'm thinking of putting together an A-Z list of all previous AWS competitors 1) because I like lists and 2) because I'm a geek, but I wondered if anyone else would like to see such a thing? An easy way to check if your name has already been used or just to geek out on...if anyone is any good at websites I wondered if it could eventually form a basis for a new AWS based website (seen as Oliver finds it hard to keep his going now). Might need some help too as the records on Oliver's site have gaping holes, and only start at AWS7. But for now, purely the list, if anyone cares.

That sounds pretty good to me!

I'm also happy to lend a subdomain of my site to it (It would be [something].teamshakey.com) so it could piggyback on my hosting if you want (It could be moved to it's own domain later).

I think I just about recall all the AWS's and robots I've entered. Is there anyway to see past signup sheets?

Sign up sheets aren't great because people sign up and don't go. Oliver's website (www.antweight.co.uk) has the most cohesive past event reports (under the section 'previous AWS's) then I'll be using my extensive knowledge to try and fill in the gaps.

I'd be interested in the list :)

Yours will make up the majority of that list mind you (new names every event).

True, but its less about content and more about just having a record of it.

Any newly named ant that competes in an official AWS will be added.

Does AWS count as something like Ant Freeze?

No, AWS is Antweight World Series. Ant freeze and any other event that is not titled AWS don't count (but I'm sure you'll be at an AWS sooner or later).
