What counts as a walker?

Post by Max »

Hi Guys,

Thinking about my next antweight and like the sound of an extra 150g so thinking about the possibility of a walker.
I was wondering if this kind of mechanism counts as a walker:

Thanks,

Great looking robot but not a walker by antweight rules.
Walker - A robot whose final drive output rotates through less than 180 degrees (e.g. legs)
Also you only gain another 75gms as the limit for walkers is 225gms

From the rules:
Walker - A robot whose final drive output rotates through less than 180 degrees (e.g. legs)
Shufflebot - A robot that rests on part of its body during the recovery phase of its leg movement.
So I not sure the legs on the RHex would count i'm afraid..

*EDIT* Ah, you beat me to it Peter..

it's very difficult to get any kind of walking or shuffling mechanism working let alone anything effective enough to win fights. i've been told that the easiest way is a rotational cam moving legs in a walking motion, andy will have to show how to put one together though.
