Do you reckon a nano would be possible with a NiMH battery? What would the weight limit be?

Weight limit 25g. Size 50mm cube.

We've been looking at LiPo's single cell around 50-100mah.

I use 60mAh 1 cell lipos, and tbh at such a small size they're not much more dangerous than NiMH. I don't know much about NiMH batteries, but if you can find some under 10g then it might work..

May be able to give it a go then but I still don't know about Lipos. In theory 15g NiMH + 3g receiver + 2 x 3g servos = 24g. 1g left for wheels and armour. Oh dear. I'm not sure about the safety of lipos and I presume I would need a bunch of connectors and adapters for them anyway which could push up the weight considerably. I shall have to think about this one.

(On another tangent from this tangent, here's some very cheap motor mounts (£3.27 for 10) to go with the very cheap motors: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/F05101-1 ... 46953.html. Bought some today so haven't tried them myself, but at that price there's not much to loose)

Considering moving the Nanoweight stuff to a separate thread seeing as there's a lot of intrest..

basicly, the nanoweight open will be a melee between all attending nanoweights. i will make a 2 inch cube out of cardboard for official entry. if we are doing nanos, it may have to be a melee for the fleaweights. i've got a full double elim comp as well as football, annihilator and tag team planned for the ants which are the main focus of the event after all. fleas and nanos will still get a game each though as they are both pheasable classes to hold an event for in the venue i have. i will also be bringing my practise arena so anyone that wants a nano or flea fight can do so in there at any point ( non spinner for this as my arena has no battle box ). sound fair?

Sounds good to me :) I shouldn't think there's likely to be more than 10 or so Nanos at the antweight open, so whatever happens with them shouldn't take much time.

i will put some sort of official schedual for the day together at some point. whatever happens i will try to encorporate something for nanos and fleas. ants do take priority though and we've got a lot planned for them so it will probably be a melee for each class before the main antweight open. this comes at the compromise of cutting out the non spinner warm up.

I may.. MAY have reminded Alex that he has some spare 50:1 HP motors in his tool box... Long story short Stanley is back; the short but glorious golden days of antweights is over ... I'm, I'm so sorry :(

Ok, so I've done enough tweaks to my ants to warrant a bit of an update...

FlailWhale has had it's batteries upgraded to 300mAh 35C. This means it can now run the spinner at full power without any power drop... Probably just means it'll self destruct faster, but we'll have to wait and see...

Lionel has had it's flipper upgraded so it can now self right.. Very much a non trivial task, but got there in the end. Still not sure how reliable it will be, but seems to work for the moment
(little demo vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEyW2AI ... e=youtu.be)

BullyDozer has also had some mods added so it can self right, though it needs help from a wall to do so... It also seems to be able to beat the newly resurrected Stanley about 50% of the time, although I believe Alex is working to change that

Nuts suffered some considerable damage after a fight with Inertia 10, and although it has been repaired, I may do a full rebuild of it if another pringles tin appears any time soon. I am also waiting on a delivery of Googly eyes for the rebuild.

My AWS teams this time are most likely gonna be..

Ants:
Lionel
FlailWhale
BullyDozer
Tinny - MiniDozer Cluster

Fleas:
Nuts
Haggis

Nanos:
MiniDozer
Lift-a-Little
Lift-a-Lot

BTW: Alex, Will and I are also looking for someone who doesn't have a cluster yet, and would like to enter 6 Nanos as an antweight cluster :P
