technically it will shuffle rather than walk as the front of the robot will be resting on the floor during the recovery phase of the leg movement :)

news update: decided to put the walker on hold for a while as i already have enough ants for a whole team and a reserve for games. i am instead going to focus on building another nano and another fleaweight. the fleaweight will have either a flipper, an axe or a crusher. the nano will probably be a crusher as i don't think there are that many in the nanoweight division and i think a good one could work quite well both on it's own in the NWS and in the clusterbot in the AWS and FWS.

the three part clusterbot idea worked! weight distribution ( roughly)=100g+30g+20g.
individually the botlets are called transit ant, naughty penguin and this too shall fail. at the upcoming AWS my co drivers for the cluster will be my cousins Jhon and Alex. at future events i will have to rope in some of my fellow junior roboteers to drive the two small botlets.

thanks Dave!

looking like the next project will be a fleaweight walker. i'm planning on using the same walking mechanism as in my previous attempts only this time with a smaller cam wheel and holes that are actually drilled through rather than melted through with the soldering iron :)
for the weapon i am working on having an expanding acetate ramp with a catch to stop the acetate expanding on it's own.

post AWS team review.

Hogi did very well making it to the top 16 play offs again. some new penguin tape and that'll be grand.
cutup also did very well. i liked it because it could ( usually ) throw it's opponent out but withoout completely wrecking them.
ant2D2: after two years of excellent service, ant2D2 ewok deffence unit has finally started showing it's age, therefore the old body has been retired and electronics removed in order to become ant2D3! i started building the body last night and so far everything fits. still need to make a lid and some sort of weapon ( havn't decided what weapon yet )
we should've brought more penguins did surprisingly well. all parts were driven very well and played an individual role in the fight which was nice.

here is ant2D3! it self rights well, sits flat in the cube with a little bit of acetate on and it slightly faster than the old ant2d2.

Woohoo! New Ant2!

Also, I loved the penguin cluster. I hope you continue to run it.
