Just started repairing some of my robots from the AWS and decided to start with Flippant.
Apart from new batteries and a repair to the servo wiring caused by opening the flipper at the wrong moment and allowing a spinner inside it didn't really need much else.
But then I decided the scoop was getting a bit chewed, the chassis was cracked and one of the tynes has been repaired several times so I might as well do a complete rebuild.
After all with these 3D printed robots its not like you have to build anything, all you have to do is turn on the printer, wait a couple of hours and out pops a robot.
This time I have made the chassis deeper so less ground clearance and also extended the 2mm polycarb scoop further down the sides for more protection.

Here it is so far still have to fit the new batteries and flipper link and maybe make some new wheels that are recessed a little more plus mold some tyres.

That looks like a winner to me Peter. A nice evolution of a great design.

Have now fitted new matching wheels with fluorescent orange tyres plus doubled the thickness of the curved tines.

Inside I have fitted a large chunk of polycarbonate to try and give a bit more protection to the electronics.

I think my robots are breeding.
I left Flippant and Dominant in the cupboard and when I returned I found this which will be the new Defiant.

That's an awesome robot and I'm loving the colours!

Can't wait to see it fight.

I see some possibly Bullydozer inspired features :L that's what Bully originally meant to be, with tracks etc... Glad I didn't now cause it would've been painfully out engineered by this. Definitely looking forward to seeing it fight :)

Cheers but I am not too sure how good my engineering is these days.
If you look at the second picture in my post above there are two spare holes in the side wall.
It took me three iterations of the lifting mechanism to ensure it self righted from any positions, that sounds more like trial and error.
I must admit I do like playing with the 3D cad more these days to make sure everything fits in and the robot fits the cube.

Very nice Peter. Looks to be very well thought out.
Are the tracks 2 piece? Inner and outer sections? Have you managed to fibre reinforce them at all ?

The tracks are molded as one piece in a two part mold shown below.

I haven't put any reinforcing material in the track but just rely on the extra track guides to retain the tracks in a turn.
