I really want to make a spinner. What type of motor should I use?

A small brushless outrunner motor used in the smaller versions of rc planes.
Should be able to buy one in most rc oriented stores or online.
Hobbyking is a popular store.

Robotbirds is a good source of suitable brushless motors and ESCs.

Can't post here without re-iterating the usual warnings:
Balance your blade carefully.
Arrange some protection for your eyes/body during testing.
Test at low speed first and increase speed SLOWLY.
Make sure the blade will not shatter and is securely attached to the motor.

Apologies if you've heard this a million times before, but no apologies for emphasising safety!

I have bought the bushless outrunner motor and esc and have made a practice polycarb 'blade'. However, before I make a titanium one, how do I fix it to the motor. I have read about glueing it on and in pictures I have looked at there seems to be some sort of plastic ring above it screwed on (such as I believe the modern version of Variant). I am not certain how these don't risk flying off. I hope someone can help.

Most discs either have a hub of some description or they have grub screws threaeded into the side of a thick blade holder, in petes case he has 2 peices of fibreboard sandwiching the blade and grub screws threading in the middle (somehow). Antipathy and Divinity have one peice blades; Antipathy has a thick peice of ali with treated blades attached either end, Divinity's was milled out of a 6mm peice of ti with the blades and hub as one peice.
