Never seen this before. It's quite incredible! One way of taking out your opponent I suppose.

My antweight Kruger did a similar tactic in a meele. Spun up, bar came off the robot and hit the only other spinner in the arena, taking it's wheel off and disabling it's weapon at the same time.

Haha, Knightrous, that's wicked! Seems to be a lot more common abroad than it is here in England!

Nice fight from the Australian antweight competition at their recent national event:

I've mentioned it in the comments of the video as well, but what impresses me most is the fact that Scarlet maintains a degree of control, aggression and (definitely) damage despite being one wheel down for a portion of the fight!

The Australian fights tend to be longer because their arena has no drop off until 2 mins are up, which I prefer to be honest, but over here with the volume of ants we have, 2 min fights each would take 2 days :p

Thanks for the comments on Scarlet :) In the previous version of the robot, I had a rather large disliking of how it drove (being an undercutter) and the frustration of trying to be aggressive and attack an opponent when it drove like "bananas". So a fair chunk of the rebuild was to make it more driveable and have a better weight balance, which also helps when it ends up running around with just one wheel :P

Next event it should be sporting a new weapon shaft setup that should stop the disc/motor coming adrift and a modification to the wheel hubs to stop them coming off :)

It's one of my favourite spinners actually, looks very balanced and it can do quite some damage
