What rule should we use when deciding on "out of arena" situations when it's not clear?

The robot that hits the bottom of the battle box (ditch area) first loses
11
48%
The agressor robot (pusher) wins?
10
43%
The last robot to have made contact with the arena floor wins
2
9%

Out of the Arena rule - when it's not clear

Post by Simon Windisch »

Hi there,

The discussion on the out of arena rule has stalled on http://www.robotwars101.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1466 so I thought I'd put it to a vote here, just to see what people think.

So this is in regards to when both robots seem to have left the arena at the same time

So I know that these rules aren't exclusive of each other, but I'd like to hear your comments.

I voted for the robot doing the pushing for two reasons.
1. The robot doing the pushing is winning the battle at the time the robots go out.
2. It is normally much easier to say who is pushing than who lost contact with the arena/ hit the ditch first.
But I would be more than happy with restarting the battle if both go out within say 1 second of each other.

I agree with Peter on that one. The 1 second rule would be some sort of nice guideline
