I am up for removing both rules. Its an old rule I think dating back to aws 10. Spinners can get though ali, steel and dare I say it ti. I remember scott's ti front scoop getting prity shredded.
If people want to make steel boxes then let them make steel box's. It will be a challenge to get it into the weight. A steel box will have a lot of weaknesses. Wheels under it maybe?

Are we counting the votes cast on the forum of people who can't get to the AWS, like Leo and Craig and Joacim? I think it's only fair to isnt it.

Thats not disappointing Craig, I thought you said you couldnt come somewhere thats all. The more people come to AWS's, the better they are, and I'm a big Anto fan.
Speaking of, I think Will is talking about attending with Ant Awe, I take it he'd be fine to compete at least for this one whilst the metal armour rule is in limbo?

Perhaps he could compete in the non spinner comp if there is one in the morning.

me and John Ried (terrorhurtz) have had that conversation plenty of times why people build fighting robots and go into the arena and ask ' please go easy on me ' I'll never know, Tanto and Terrorhurtz have fought 3 times everytime we fight John cranks up his gas and I up the voltage
You build robots to fight not cuddle and dance round throwing fairy dust around FIGHT

How can you know how good your robot is if you dont fight the 'scary ones' A good robot's sucess is being able to beat the ones other roboteers fear.

you hear that Pete? I cant wait to fight combatAnt again

Yes, fighting full-on is the whole point. But I'll admit that I hope that if there's damage then it's nothing too expensive.
