would i be able to do that with a 11.1v lipo battery or would it melt the rx

Yes, you will destroy the rx at tht voltage.

I still cant find any 1 mm. thick polycarbonate or acrylic. (I'm not doing full combat so acrylic should be ok.) I would really apreciate it if someone could help me with that. I found some 1 mm. acrylic on ebay but that seemed to have dissapered now. And by the way I did check technobots, they no longer sell 1 mm. polycarbonate.

If you look in the questions section, there is a thread called "polycarbonet". In there Pete W gives a really good link for the stuff. I think it is from RS and the delivery is superb.

Just an update on my ant, It isn't finished yet but here are the stats.

name: ANTagonize
power: 2 micro gear motors 50:1
speed controller: Sabertooth 5
battery: custom 6.0V 160 mAh NiMh pack
transmitter/reciever: the one from bidproducts
armour: 0.75 mm. or 1.50 mm. polycarbonate (I dont know which one to chose)

So it should be ready for the next event. Pics to come when its finished
