Go ahead. I am not a gamer in the slightest so it would only float up above my head along with "3D printing", "weaponry" and "basic engineering". Whatever THOSE things are!

Please don't mention Half Life 3.

Please, no :(

To cut across Scott's weeping, MORE ROBOTS!

In my continuation for this coming AWS to revamp my original team from the 18th event, here is the 7th robot in the Meat series, Meat 4x4

Image

with faithfully recreated artwork based on the original Meat robot (pictured below)

Image

Also finished two more of Gemma's entries. Uncle Joe's Mint Balls features a poking stick

Image

and an interesting clusterbot called \_/, both made from modified 'wall-climbing' vehicles with a vacuum pump in each unit to stick them to the floor. No idea how they'll fair against full sized ants as they're only 44g each but at least its going to be fun finding out!

Yeah, so it's all been a bit quiet and last-minute for the Lawries this time out, mostly due to my night job, but all the robots are ready to rock and roll, if not really that good on this occasion.

Here's Gemma's final entry. He's called Carrot Jones and he's a happy little chappy.

Image

Then, for me, I have my insane rolling piece of idiocy (plus a bug to clusterize it) 8T88-S(B). Anyone who saw previous 8T88 models in action will know the drill. Anyone who didn't...well...wait and see!

Image

Also, two boring robots, the 6th in the Marabunta series, Marabunta Hex Machina.

Image

And Apocalypse Then: Heart of Darkness, featuring the worst colour scheme ever.

Image

They are all very, very loosly based on my first ever AWS team, seen here...

Image

...in an attempt to show how far I haven't come. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

QUESTIONS!

And unexpected ones from me, but...does anyone have a supplier or an easy way of buying tiny nuts and bolts? Like the ones that come with a Sabretooth to hold it in place. The local DIY and hobby shops all stock them way too big. Yes, that's right. Actual fixings. Sorry.

Team Horse Power is complete well in advance of the AWS. Because I have started fresh, Gemma has basically inherited all the old parts, so her robots are now much better than mine.

Cake 40

Basic, strong 4WD pushbot

The Wilderness of Spoons

Basic, strong 4WD pushbot part 2

Parsnip Jones

A quicker, stronger, faster Carrot Jones, still as happy

Everything is Awesome!! Robot

An actual, proper walker built as a technical exercise. Useless but fun.

I have also converted the 2 sucker cars into ants. They are made of card and will be driven by Psychostorm himself to uphold the legacy of the Titanic. A part of me wants them to do suprisingly well, but mostly I'm hoping they meet Anticyclone.

Mine to follow when complete.
