Re: AWS 47 - Stoke Sub Hampton - July 4th 2015
I've used Antlog for two events and it really is the most user friendly thing ever. Just do a pretend practice event so that you know exactly how to set it up. A few bits of advice: - When doing sign up and tech check, create a separate new spreadsheet with the team name and robot names on. Then if ...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
I usually use these for 2mm id pvc tubing. Not sure how airtight they will be with 2.5mm id tubing though.

Re: Spur Gears
There's a plugin for sketchup called Involute Gears. You give it the number of teeth and diameter and it draws it for you.

Yeah, same here. I'll definitely be there with 4 ants, but they will all be last minute builds, so I'm not sure what I'm bringing.

Pete's arena? Providing he doesn't mind bringing it along.

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil
Looking at yesterday's event, clearly it was skewed towards spinners and flippers, so I can see why you're worrying about what to build. But the AWS is a whole different kettle of fish. Nothing has really changed since the last AWS. Personally I'm going for 2 spinners, a 4wd pusher with a flipper, a...

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil
Aaaanyway... Getting this back on topic... Here's the Antlogs: Warm-up Main Event You'll have to ignore the massive administrative cock-up in group 1 of the main event. I tried to add a robot after the draw was done. It meant that Combatant incorrectly got eliminated. But we went back and rejigged i...

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil
I think you're mis-quoting me here. I never said I'd like walls that "advantage robots like Void and Anticide". I want a wall which make it a challenge to win a fight. I then said that the only ones who consistently did that yesterday were Void and Anticide. Higher walls will give an advan...

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil
I'm not sure the low walls favoured flippers generally. It was just Void and Anticide mainly. Lots of the less powerful flippers really struggled to get anyone out of the arena. There were no gimmies, if you wanted someone out of that arena you had to work for it. I think 50mm walls were about right...

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil
Kwijiboom won't ever be doing any more winning, judging by the state it left the arena in. Void won the warm-up. And the full combat. And the tag team. Just goes to show that spinners don't necessarily dominate in an arena without drop-offs. I'd like to give a huge thanks to everyone who turned up. ...
