On a related note re the N20's ..
I have had the simple "bent metal" brushes fail on these.
There appear to be some N20's made with "proper" carbon brushes.
Does anyone have more info about this, sources, etc?
Mike.

Re: Hello! And some questions - And NEA Build Log of Sorts
The numbers you are referring to are not rpm, but standard motor sizes, all bigger than the N20 motors you will likely be using in a 150 ant. The rpm should not have much affect on the capacity of ESC needed.

I'm curious about your wheels and tyres.
Are they custom made?
What is the tyre material?

Re: Hello.... and I need a smart person :-P
Can you tell us what type of battery and voltage you are using?
If it is more than 6 volts, and you connected it directly to the Rx, there may be irreversible damage, despite the led still lighting up.

Re: Servo problems.
Thanks Alex for the explanation about temperature effecting the off position for servos. Explains something that had me curious. A question: Are all the Robots I see on AWS events that "creep" when not driven (usually the pink ones :)), servo powered, and if so, are they micro or larger se...

Re: Das Mikro - £12 dual channel speed controller with mixing
They are not "motor plugs". These 3 pin plugs feed the signal from the receiver to the ESC (DasMikro) and also feed the regulated power from the ESC to operate the receiver. However, all of the negative pins (outside row, brown wire) on the receiver are connected together, and all of the p...

Re: Das Mikro - £12 dual channel speed controller with mixing
Hi Mike The extra wire with socket is superfluous. Probably there in case you need a feed wire from battery, etc. A couple of notes .. I think they are capacitors rather than resistors. I suggest that you remove/eliminate the brown and red wires from ONE OF the plugs going to the receiver, as they a...

Re: ANTipodean Activity
Budget for a beginner Antweight - We bought 3 kinds of radio sets to try. Hobbyking HK-T6A V2, FlySky FS-i6, FlySky FS-i4. And also bought a usb programming lead for them, but have not yet had the time to figure that stuff out! The FS-i4 at $US27 incl shipping seems to be up to the job and even has ...

Re: Ideas for entry level Ants
Hi Alex Thanks for the quick reply. On the DasMikro .. It seems to be the +5v pad that goes to the Rx that is really weak. I've lost 2 of them so far and whilst I may not be the best at soldering, I have been doing it for a few decades. I managed to trace it back to the next component leg and solder...
