Oops, I did indeed mean £5 per team. I didn't even consider people would think it would be £5 per robot!

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil

Hi all, As it's less than 2 weeks until the event, I've now updated the first post of this thread with some extra info. Mainly directions and offers of lifts for anyone using public transport. Also, I wanted to sound you all out about the entry fee. As Andy and Scott are hiring a van to get their ar...

Yeah, that's fine, entries can be finalised on the day. The entry form was just to get a rough idea of numbers.

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil

Yeah, entries are looking a bit thin in the ground. I've not even entered yet... If anyone isn't entering because they don't want to commit to a particular robot, then feel free to enter as "Robot 1" etc... Or you can change them on the day. But please do sign up so we have an idea of numb...

Re: 3D printer supplies

Yeah, this was more just a test as I had the STL file ready to go. The plan is to attach polycarbonate outer panels to further strengthen the chassis, as I used to do with the shapeways prints. But the motor mount will definitely need beefing up in the next attempt.

Re: 3D printer supplies

I had a go at printing off a chassis for my new spinner tonight. It was one I'd intended to get done at shapeways, so I was expecting a few issues printing it on the i3. But it handled it quite well. The only issue was that the right hand side became slightly unstuck while printing, so the fork is a...

Re: 3D printer supplies

The STL exporter plugin seems to be ok for me. I tried drawing and printing some gears last night and they came out pretty much the size I was expecting. The DAE thing is handy though, as all my old drawings are saved in that format. As for Cura vs Slic3r, I've only had chance to use Cura so far so ...

Re: 3D printer supplies

Finally got mine set up over the last day or so. Aside from a few minor issues (did anybody else have to manually change the plug on the extruder motor, or was that just mine?), I'm amazed with how well it works out of the box. I was getting prepared to have to fine tune things and spend days calibr...

Re: Morgrugyn Destruction (Non-AWS) - 30 May 2015 - Caerphil

Yeah, as Dave said, low walls on 2 sides to try and take the advantage away from pushers. It should help out flippers and spinners a lot though.

And the low walls are 2 inches high, so it's not inconceivable that a pusher might get someone over the walls.
