Re: Upgrading to lipo, other electronics needed.
As with most things, the short answer is "it depends". Some receivers will run happily off a 2S LiPo, but the majority are rated at about 6V maximum. So you generally need a voltage regulator to generate (typically) 5V to power the receiver. This is known in RC circles as a BEC (battery el...

Re: Antweight World Series 51 - Peasedown St. John, 29th October 2016
The spreadsheet-based Antlog 2 is still available, as are the paper (PDF) charts. Several people are familiar with Antlog 2 and there are still a few who remember how to use the paper system :) Antlog 3 is also released, documented and as simple as I can make it. If we're going to run large successf...

Re: Part recommendation
For soldering irons the best advice is to get a sponge and keep it damp for cleaning the tip. Cleaning the tip will make it last a LOT longer and make soldering much easier. Re: Paper Sheets
I have them somewhere but my website seems to have fallen apart
BTW a new Antlog3 will be out tomorrow with one-click install (well, OK about 3 clicks, but it's super-easy).
I'll also sort out some links to Antlog2 (using Open Office) and the paper sheets.

I didn't know modern CAD tools had an "Airfix" plugin!

Re: PC Plod Build/Upgrade Log
Hi, and welome to the forum! However, if you look at the relative volume of posts in each section you will see that this forum is very much focussed on the antweight class. If your only interest is in heavyweights you may well do better over at the FRA forum http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/forum/ Ha...
