Re: Rule Debates

A few that I can think of that probably need looking at; 1) The arena rule regarding the 50% drop-off needs to be changed, i'm pretty sure Pete's arena doesn't meet this criteria, despite being widely regarded as the best arena we've got. 2) Add Nano's to the rules, there are no mention of them at a...

Re: GeorgeR's robots

Anybody for robot gymnastics?

Not really sure how doing a handstand on the axe (axe-stand?) is going to help it win anything, but I like it anyway!

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.

That looks great, and we'll done for getting it on weight first time, I wish I could do that. While you'll never get it to drive as well as a 4wd bot, I find turning down the aileron rate helps a lot. Go into mixer, aileron, and adjust the "scale" down from 100. I find around 60 works, but...

Re: Hammer bot design questions.

Yep, you set it up so the weapon esc is controlled by the rudder stick (usually left/right on the left stick) push the stick one way to turn the motor forwards and fire the axe, puch the other way to retract. For an esc the Vex 29 is a good choice, it's cheap, small, and works well. For motors I've ...

Re: Team Dudge build diaries.

That's looking good, nice to see another hammer/axe. The hammer should be good and stable with those specs, and should have plenty of power to self right. One motor will definitely be fine with a 26g weapon, Axiom's original 40g/10cm axe still worked on one motor in the latter fights of antfreeze 4,...

Shakey's the contact for all nanotwo tech enquiries now, probably the best bet is to email him, the address is on the Nuts and bots site.

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot

My bad! Yes it can handle the full voltage, I must have misread the specs. Fair enough on starting with a cheaper component if you're not sure how things work yet, at least they are the same weight so it's an easy enough swap when you've got the hang of it.

Good luck with the build!

Re: Hello, World! - A Newbie's First Robot

Looks really good, but I would recommend the Turnigy tgy-306g servo instead of the one you listed. It's the same weight but three times faster, which will give you a much better flip. Also, the slim wing one is looks to be only rated for 6v, so it might overheat if run from the full lipo voltage.
