Re: Team Shakey Build Diary

So it's been a while since I updated this and I've done a fair amount of things in that time. Not all ants but this is basically a general build diary by this point anyway so... Laser Cutter I got this machine all happily running and over time have been doing tweaks here and there, it went through a...

Re: Fishy Electronics - DisinfectANT , Cilit BANG

Just to say your robot was awesome at the event and I'm really hoping you keep making more, especially with your shiny style! Probably one of the best first robots I've ever seen too. In a small world twist my brain finally clicked and I rifled through a box to find a model sporting some parts from ...

Re: GeorgeR's robots

Do note you can't plug a brushless ESC's servo lead directly into a nanotwo V3, the V3 outputs full battery voltage on the servo positive line. For most brushless ESC's you need to cut the red servo wire to prevent this full battery voltage from damaging the ESC.

Re: DisinfectANT - Antweight First Build Log

Man this is some lovely ant making going on in here!

Also I'm a little jealous of your mill. I make do on a 3020T ebay special with an electronics swap, really only good for plastics and soft ali work.

Re: Simonk software recommendations?

I prefer kkmulticopter either an old or I think maybe the beta versions that have the SimonK poking tab (let's you poke the config files). They give all of the options you can possibly have including voltage drop outs, timing advance, drag brakes etc.

And the end of this exciting era: https://i.imgur.com/VRXmY17.jpg A spring flipper I handed over at the AWS being the last of the commissions off the line. Using a TGY306HV powering a spring latch design geared more for reliable demonstrating over sheer power. Intention now is to continue with a mor...

Re: Brushless motor recomendations

No idea, I'm a pretty stubborn builder when I find a component that just works. For ESC's that's always been the afro 12A as I like poking SimonK. However it hasn't really kept with the times and I am now fitting some Multistar 12A BLHeli ones to test.

Quanum 1806 (the purple one)

Great balance of performance and weight with a 3mm shaft for robustness.

Re: Controller stuffs

Wondering as well if the SG90 is ok to plug into the nano two. Sorry about the questions. I just want to be safe with not breaking it. The Nanotwo v3 outputs whatever your battery voltage is to the servo. If you are using a 2s LiPo a sg90 wouldn't live long. As a side note it wouldn't live long any...
