Re: Graphene Batteries
It's probably a battery from the Turnigy Graphene range (Available from Hobbyking) which are still just LiPo so you can use them.

Re: Nuts And Bots - Robots and components!
Nuts & bots has been suffering difficulties with its suppliers for a good portion of this year after repeated failings on the motor supply side and the earlier issues with a component discontinuation hitting the NanoTwo V3's. Things are looking up though! The new NanoTwo LT's are much more relia...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)
One outcome of the max of 3 robots per team is that it helped open up the final group to a wider number of teams which I liked quite a lot. This to me felt like a better reason for doing that than even getting a more manageable entry number. Even though it'd be a rule that hurts my own chances I'd b...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)
I must say I don't like the idea of restricting spinners more than other classes of robots through higher fees. At the end of the day the competition should remain as fair as possible between robot classes. We do have a 5 minute from call to fight rule, maybe it should start having the screws tighte...

Re: Coping with the demand (An EO's perspective)
Personally I wouldn't be adverse to a more mandatory fee for entries or dropping the limit to 3 robots. Though that 3 robots being 2 rollers + walker/cluster as I don't think a simple 3 robot limit with all being rollers would have much of an impact. Plus always good to encourage the weirder robots ...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
Most likely yes, Just haven't fully decided on my team yet. The spinners all still need repairs/new discs so maybe ICBINS, Mr Flipling, Ghost Writer and Wedge Wedge Wedge.

Re: N20 motor rating
Pretty much yeah.
Though I have a benchtop power supply with a current readout that is what I actually use for this kinda thing. It's also a current limiting one which is handy for testing things too.

Re: N20 motor rating
5A is more than enough, typically N209s stall between 0.4A (Rare but I've had some in this low down in power, and 1.6A (Pololu HP motors). The regular ones that tend to be picked up generally seem to cluster around 0.8A.
