Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Ok, I've assembled the latest prototype. It doesn't work. I don't know why. Making fine-pitch SMD without the right equipment is tricky (I have only basic stuff compared to the hackspace). This time I don't think there is a design fault, just cack-handed assembly. Render http://vectrex.org.uk/mark/m...

Also, can you check the search facility, it seems to need reindexing or something, it's not finding things (Example: search "lipo connector" it does not find many messages about lipo connector)

Good job, it's working really well.
One thing I can suggest, is can we have https enabled by default automatically (e.g. with a redirect?)
Seems very fast.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Team Astro Build Log (Cheese bots)
If the RX is fine with 10 volts, then the wiring is easy. Just make up two "Y" cables and wire the negative and positive to the rx negative and positive and the esc negative and positive. In receivers with traditional "servo plug" connectors, all the positive and negative pins ar...

Re: Team Astro Build Log (Cheese bots)
"Opto" means the ESC has an opto-isolator inside (basically a LED+photodiode in the same package, the signal is transmitted optically), so the two wires coming from the RX are totally electrically isolated from the battery power coming in. This is useful, e.g. for fixed-wing aircraft which...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Further to recent updates, I've made a video:
https://youtu.be/dvAsTS2t9jo
I've got it to do telemetry. It gives the battery voltage and microcontroller temperature right now.

Re: Parts trade
I would be happy to trade, but I don't think we're allowed to send Lipos through the post. Royal mail have a restriction on Lipo batteries in particular. We can send them by some other method, but it can get expensive quickly. --- I wouldn't want my postie to be safe from CV, only to get ignited by ...

If that (huge vert) gets into a competition, I think it will pick up "best engineered" very, very easily!
