DSM2
DSMX
J6Pro
Flysky
Just to note the devo 7e won't support flysky without a hardware mod. You'll want to use a dsmx or dsm2 receiver, and I would also recommend the lemonrx feather-light ones.

Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

As Mark suggested, unlike most batteries they don't contain anything toxic, so the way to dispose of a dodgy lipo is to fully discharge it, and then simply put it in the bin. Leaving the lipo in a bucket of salt water for a couple of days is a good method of discharging as it should contain any fire...

Wow! This thing is gloriously over the top, can't wait to see it running and really hope I get to fight it sometime.

Re: Small ESCs outside the UK

To be honest the braking isn't a major issue, but having previously only used braked escs I really noticed a slight sloppiness in the control of the robot when I did briefly test a dasmikro, almost as if you were driving on a slippery surface. But as you said the much bigger issue is how fragile the...

Re: Small ESCs outside the UK

You don't want brake Brake is something used in rc cars, where if you go straight into reverse it applies a brake instead of reverse. Without brake is good. I'm afraid you're not quite right on the braking. Braking on a brushed esc refers to what it does when the stick is centred (no movement), bra...

Re: decent antweight brushless

I do like the LeTodar, but unfortunately they've been discontinued.
I've not used one myself, but the Dys BE1806 has always been a popular choice, banggood has them in stock.

Re: GeorgeR's robots

That's a pair of Pololu universal mounting hubs... http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/motor-hub-3mm?keyword=Pololu%20hub I drilled out the 4 threaded holes in one of the hubs, and countersunk those holes. I then ran bolts through the drilled out hub, through the axe arm, and screwed them into the second ...

Re: GeorgeR's robots

Really need a video of this guy in operation :D You're in luck... https://youtu.be/2Q1-1wDGhec I've added a comment on this video that's got timestamps for RBMK's fights (and my others) https://youtu.be/c_qfIdc_MSQ Jump to 43:40 on this one for a decent fight against Bulletproof (yay titanium spark...

Re: GeorgeR's robots

The bigger/heavier blades will increase the turning and gyro forces which could make it difficult to control - but I'll dial back the acceleration/braking and maybe adjust the angle of the main blades so it should move much the same as before. I'm also going to add some kind of adjustment for the mo...

Re: GeorgeR's robots

Believe it or not, the current version on RBMK was never supposed to be a competitive robot, it was entirely built to see if my weird gyro walker idea would actually work. I was delighted with it performance at Ant Freeze even though it didn't win a fight, so I was more surprised than anyone when it...
