Re: Part recommendation

TBH, that one would probably do you fine. With a temperature controlled iron you'll want to solder with it at around 350C, assuming the temperature setting is accurate. If you're using unleaded solder you may want to swap to using this stuff as it's so much nicer to solder with: https://www.amazon.c...

Re: Part recommendation

You shouldn't need any extra wires, just cut the wire and solder in a switch. The wires on the ESC will likely need cutting to length anyway so you should have plenty spare from that if needed. Make sure to tin everything properly before soldering it else you'll likely have weak joints. You're ESC i...

Re: Part recommendation

Those motor support bars will want to be thicker than that if it's gonna survive any decent hits; they're gonna be handling a lot of force!

Re: Part recommendation

The DYS motors need a 5mm bearing. I use the 5x8x2.5mm ones from here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/W-FLANGE-MODE ... hash=item0

The flange makes it easier to ensure it doesn't fall out.

Re: Help!!!

Even if the throttle isn't low you should be getting beeps. Sounds like you're not getting any signal from the receiver. You sure the servo plug is plugged in the right way up? (Yellow wire closest to the heatshrink)

Re: Help!!!

Yeah, if you cut either of the other two then the ESC isn't gonna do much. Resolder it, cut the red wire, and you should be good.

Re: Help!!!

Does the motor beep when you power it up? It should beep 3 times in a rising tone, and then do a longer beep to signify that everything's ok and it's got signal. It sounds like it may be a motor connection issue.
