Re: Soapbox Racers

Live and learn, Peter!
As you say, you'll know for next time!
I am changing mine to a 3 wheeler, I found a 20" moped wheel for the rear, hopefully will be a good compromise.
Sounds like fun, and 10th sounds pretty good for a first attempt, especially for an old timer!!!! LOL.

Re: Soapbox Racers

Aww. Thanks Guys. I am riveting 1.5 mm Aluminium sheet for paneling, as It is easy to bend round corners. As I now don't have any time restraints, I think I might take it easy and try some push rod suspension! I bought some tubing for a roll over bar, but have yet to find a good enough method of ben...

Re: Soapbox Racers

Sounds like you are making good progress. Id love to see a pic, Peter. We got a mail from the organisers, and we didnt make it into the red bull event. "Thanks very much, thousands of entries, blah, blah, blah." Never mind, We will continue to build it, is a good little project, some inter...

Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings

Wow, small world! Yep, I think for most events, 20" bmx wheels seem to be the best option, but for the Red Bull event, something sturdier looks to be wise. We have 14" wheelbarrow wheels, with roller bearings, we are planning to pump them up as much as possible to decrease the rolling resi...
