I've been into robots since I was bought a Radio Shack 'Armatron' by my parents when I was about 8. I still have it. Are the springs there to just return it to position, or have another function like shock absorbing etc.?

Like this. obviously, work out which pin is the input and output, as it's not clear on this pic. (also it's probably a 6V output you want, not 5v)

We have a maplin store nearby, I was in there on Sat. They had really low stock, so I ended up buying a number of different ones - different amperages etc.

Hi Dan, I recently followed Antroboteer's method above recently (on the SG90s), and got it to work (ran into the issue of the centre position problem, - still yet to be rectified!). It works surprisingly well, my biggest problem has been doing mixing properly on the transmitter instead... Regarding ...

Yes, and team nuts features on the iplayer video John posted - for about 3 frames anyway! Also is it nuts weapon that Jonathan Pearce says "what's that" or something? ( I think I recognise the chains on the robot)

You'd be surprised actually. The SG90 boards run gear motors frighteningly well and due to the poor efficiency of the motors they come bundled with, they are actually built to deal with quite a current draw in practise so they run gear motors flawlessly and often have larger controller chips than t...
