Re: AWS 49
Just to raise a point, if you have a good venue and are willing to put in the effort to run an event, then do it. It's good to have diversity in the locations where events are held. It's a shame for those who can't attend, but there will be people who would be more likely to attend an event further ...

Re: Ant Freeze 3 & Signups - Nuneaton, 23rd Jan 2016
Thanks for the offer Pete, very kind of you. I can get in at 4 minutes past any hour, so I'm assuming 9:04 would be the most sensible?

Re: Ant Freeze 3 & Signups - Nuneaton, 23rd Jan 2016
I would still consider myself to be on a kind-of-hiatus, but I can't not attend an event when it's this close. I might even see if I can throw the components of my almost-working spinner together onto a simple 3d printed chassis during the week (as it was only the tracked drive that gave me problems...

Re: Melees
I don't think I have any more to add to the subject of what should or shouldn't happen at AWSs - especially as I'm not in competition at the moment - but in response to Dave Weston (and because it may be relevant to further discussions); First of all, melees are unfair. As we saw in some of the figh...

Re: Melees
If I may be more constructive for a second; It seems to me there is no one tournament format that will adequately fit the desires of both people who's main enjoyment comes from fair, balanced competition, and people who's main enjoyment comes through other means (for example, diversity, having as ma...

Re: Melees
Sorry to butt in, but the system used at the Featherweight champs is horrendously unfair and, overall, terrible. I honestly couldn't believe the prestige placed on an event with such a poor ruleset. In some ways it made me want to build a feather less. So is having single elimination with a losers m...

Re: Peter Waller Nano Adventures
Just popping in to say that I used a Deltang RX/ESC combo board in my Firestorm toy mod ( RX65 + Daughter board) and I found it incredibly hard to drive due to the lack of brake on the motors. I e-mailed David at Deltang regarding this and he said that while he's made note of the request, it isn't a...

Re: Epic Robotics
Hey all, Just to let you know I'm taking a break from robotics for a bit. I haven't had any motivation to do much robot stuff at all for over a year now, and I figure it's better just to take a break than to risk burning out entirely. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. Best of luck to all of you i...

Re: Ant Freeze 2.5 - 26th September 2015 Nuneaton
Sorry, I'm going to have to pull out of this. I've had very little time lately, just been working on Entropy and it's having issues I don't have time to fix, and I just have better uses for the time at the moment. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope you all have a great day, and I hope I'll se...

Nuneaton station is easiest, but can get to the other two if it's more convenient, it just means changing.
