Re: Bot Building Questions!

Yeah I think that's most likely the best way forwards. Haha well it would squash around any shape so not such a crazy idea!! I'll keep you guys updated on anything I do of course, but not sure if there's time to get another robot built before I'm back to uni. May have to be a project for the Christm...

Re: Bot Building Questions!

Titanium is definitely still an option. I could do with some better scissors anyhow as I don't want to keep blunting all the ones in the kitchen.. I'll have to get myself a pair! One concern I had was that when grabbing onto a robot the servo could try to tear itself out, which is which I was wonder...

Re: Bot Building Questions!

The plan was to have a long and slightly angled wedge at the front.. just enough to get under the bot and get their wheels off the ground (hopefully), with the battery, wheels servo etc all being at the back. However this would involve some good driving to get them from either the side or the back. ...

Re: Bot Building Questions!

I'd barely hit send and you've already replied Alex! Thanks again for the advice. The thin armour shouldn't be too much of an issue as it's on top of 1.5mm polycarb giving 2.5mm armour total. It was more to add weight and to make the bot look cool than any serious protection (although it will help)....

Re: Bot Building Questions!

So after reading about the difficulties had with Ti I went for 1mm aluminium which cut more easily than polycarbonate did! I just used a regular pair of scissors. Anyway, I'm back with more questions! I'd like to build a vertical grabber robot next. I was wondering what servo is recommended here? As...

Re: Bandit's Bot-Building Bonanza

An ImportANT Update! I decided to use some of the extra weight I had to add some 1mm Aluminium armour panels around the entire robot! I think I'm going to call this robot Satsuma due to it being small and orange. I'm probably happy to say that it's finally complete too. http://i.imgur.com/Ejr7sox.j...

Amazing work as always Alex! Were these made for commission or will they be up for sale for anyone?

Re: 20th August 2016 - The Oxford Games, Carterton

This event sounds like a lot of fun indeed! I can't make it but love the ideas of these games. Good to have something a little different from the regular combat. If popular I can see people making custom bots with scoops or at the very least attaching them to existing bots. Maybe there would be an o...

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

Just wondering how you cut the aluminium for the flipper and what thickness it is? I'm looking to add some to my bot! thanks :)
