Re: 14th April - Sly Practice in the North West - The Return

Yes, the football 'crowd' was a bit of a distraction! I'll check the fixtures before confirming the June date. I had plenty fun, thanks to Joey and Danny for attending. the results of the session were: Combat league: 1st Jigsaw 2nd BTBSOH 3rd Morgrugyn and the fastest obstacle race run was by Morgru...

Re: Website Builders

Never explored the real budget end of the market, but I've used nativespace http://www.nativespace.co.uk for the last four commercial sites I've done. Their support and response has been great, as has performance. For a simple to use, feature rich, easily maintained interface, I would go with Joomla...

Re: Team Yr Morgrug - Builds n stuff

Been really busy at work so this went on the back burner for a while. I decided to code from scratch myself in the end. Not too much trouble except for forgetting that I didn't need to do the mixing, so took that out again  . I'm using the pulsein stuff which works fine with 2 channels, and th...

Re: 14th April - Sly Practice in the North West - The Return

I can make it easily, I need to change anyway as I'm going from Wakefield XD am I right in thinking there's no formal sign ups? (am I also right in thinking that I use that phrase too much?) You are also right on all counts  I didn't do a sign-up as the numbers were unlikely to be overwhelming...

That's 2-3 mins in the car. Perfect if you can do it. I was thinking of making life easy for you so you didn't have to change!

Excellent :D

If you are not driving, you just need to get to a handy train station (like Bolton, or even Manchester) and I'll pick you up.

14th April - Sly Practice in the North West - The Returns

Following the overwhelming success of last years events  the sly practise will return at noon on the 14th April at the usual venue: The Hunt Lane Tavern, 754 Middleton Road Chadderton, Oldham. OL9 0LD It is about 5 mins off the M62 J20 or M60 J21, the pub is child friendly, serves good lunches...

Re: New antweight kit

There is clearly an appetite for this sort of thing. At Barnsley we started counting the 'serious' requests for kits and got up to 15!

Re: Robots: Extreme Wars Live Barnsley 2012 - 26 Feb 2012

Had a great time yesterday- fantastic to touch base with the 'chaps' again. Many thanks to everyone there. Shame about Morgrugyns motors - would have gone marginally faster if it was glued to the arena floor!

Note to self - must get some sensible motors immediately!

Re: Robots: Extreme Wars Live Barnsley 2012 - 26 Feb 2012

Just setting off.
Sadly Morgrugyn had a motor fail so I've had to put some new ones in - bad news is it looks like they are 150:1 - boy is it SLOW :(
Needs to get some sensible ones asap.

Re: Arenarules

This is all presuming that the arena is a parallelogram. After carefully reading the rules, I'm now not sure what rule "3b) The arena will be a raised platform with an area of at least 30 inches (762mm) square." is actually saying. Does it say the arena must be a square of side >= 30 inches OR that ...

Re: Arenarules

As for a low walled arena, I would like to be able to push out on 2 sides and have to flip out on the other 2, or in any preferred geometry with the same effect I would heartily support the ditch all the way round with a stated wall height for the non-push off areas. I am just putting a practice ar...
