Re: AWS 48, Basingstoke, 21st November 2015

I appear to have made a slight faux pas in my entries. Pepper is entered as an Ant when it should be a Flea. Sorry to only realise this at such a late point! Anyway everything is now functional, new mantis is ready to go with experimental auxiliary claws! (it's a lot less fancy than I make it out to...

Re: AWS 46- University of Reading- 28th March 2015

We will be signing up ASAP. I hate to ask this, but how stingy are you feeling regarding weight? Our fleas are both 76.2 grams and there is very little we can do to lower it without changing something big.

Looking forward to the event!

Cutting Titanium

Yes, it's another one of these threads... Hi guys. I am looking to cut some titanium bits for some robots from CAD and was wondering if any of you knew good places for this? Last time we used a water jet cutting company but they said that it isn't worth it for them do such small bits which is fair e...

Re: The AWS43 Feedback Thread

I will say again, fantastic event, run very smoothly and was a hugely enjoyable day. I must say I agree with Andy re the judges decision. I appreciate that it is very hard to call but the fact that fandabadozy is a very defensive robot by design and that it was 100% successful in what it was designe...

Re: AWS 43- University of Reading- Sat 8th March 2014

Yeah, Alasdair, you just have to sign up the four, then the fleas separately after. As long as it turns out that the 4th one is a cluster/walker on the day, that's grand-o Great! In other, entirely unrelated news, looking for volunteers to drive Salt as part of the clusterbot  (i have a secon...
