Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

Will do! Like I said it's early days...
But the concept itself is sound enough?

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

I was tempted by the idea of using hinges Lima, but all the ones I found were too heavy. Where do you get yours from and how heavy are they? Having had a look at other flippers what I've decided to do for ArmamAnt! is make a thin bar as in the photo, and then I'm going to design two separate "p" sha...

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

Yes, I'm definitely not building a spinner as my first antweight. The first one is going to be Armamant! as it's by far the simplest one to do. I think I know what you're getting at, I'll give SNAFU a little redesign... Admittedly yes, I don't have to use CAD to make my robots. But having tried last...

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

It's been almost nine months since I last posted, sadly I was very busy finishing my exams in the second half of last year. I've just been too busy to do anything robot related at all, but now that I've passed them all at long last I've finally had some time to design and plan some builds. Here are ...

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

Hi all, sorry for the radio silence over the past month or so. It turns out my Dad's soldering iron didn't work and I haven't had time to get a new one yet, so building has obviously ground to a halt. In addition to that I found out about a month ago that I have to resit one of my exams in December,...

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

I’ll wire them in parallel this time. Thanks Mark, will post a picture later when I’m done.

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

Hi Mark, I'm not sure what you mean by "same RX module", but if it means am I using one receiver, then yes I am. I'm plugging both servo leads into the same Lemon Rx receiver. Ok, I think I get what you mean. So I do it like this: IMG_4065.jpg By 'daisy chain the wires to the motors', do you mean co...

Re: MichaelG92's Build Diaries

After attending AWS 55 and talking to a few roboteers, I've decided to put MicroNewton aside for now until I work out a better way of hinging the flipper, probably via 3D printing. With hindsight it is a slightly complicated design for a first time build, so I'm focusing on something a bit simpler; ...

Re: Electric wire

Thanks both! I’m going to get some red and black for continuity, but I suppose it doesn’t what colour they are? The different colours don’t actually mean anything other than just to differentiate?

Electric wire

I’ve been looking for some red and black electrical wire for a while without much luck, and when I went to my local Screwfix yesterday to pick up another part they said that not only do they not have any, they don’t know where I could get some. I think I found some on eBay, is this the right stuff? ...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

I had a great time yesterday, even though I wasn't competing! It was nice to talk to some of the roboteers and I've really been bitten by the bug and can't wait to build my own and compete in Bristol in October! Thank you Chris and all for organising such a great event. I caught some of the fights o...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

Sorry to take away from that number, but I’ve had to make the difficult decision to withdraw this evening. There’s still quite a lot to do on my two, not helped by an undelivered transmitter, and whilst I could slave away every night this week and get one ready for Saturday I’ve decided I’d rather t...

Re: Accucell 6 charger

Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been a busy week. It Turned out I’d bought a fixed installation power supply so I sent it back and bought a new one, due to the compressed time frame I have enough to do already. It was the mains power in plug that was missing.
