Re: Crusher, why not?

Have you got some electronic scales it can bite down on? Perhaps measure what force you are getting now, to see if you are far off the 3.5kg?
Im not sure what amps the Rx will output.

Re: Crusher, why not?

Whats the internals looking like? It might be you want a mechanical solution rather than an electronic one. If the servo is designed for 5V, and you are running it like that. Instead maybe you could add some gearing?

Re: Crusher, why not?

AA batteries are 1.5V. You are using a servo to power it? Which will be on the 5V of the BEC? I think you will get a better result

Re: BB Unit on on antweight

Nice going! Now you make me want to install these in my car, to deter tail-gaiters! One again many thanks EddieJ, if I ever get good at this stuff then I can hopefully return the favor someday. No probs, if you avoid shooting me with BBs at a future bot event - we can call it even ;) Good luck with ...

Re: BB Unit on on antweight

I get it, so when the pads connect, the motor wants to switch off and the gun fires. That's going to be hard to do. Or at least, it's beyond my skill :P maybe someone better at electronics will drop by with a solution soon. But if it were me, I would just ignore the switch completely, time how long ...

Re: BB Unit on on antweight

That works :) Ok so i am pretty green with electronics too, so this might be like the blind leading the blind, but here goes  You have a brushed DC motor there, so if you wire it up backwards it will just spin the wrong way. I'd say just see which way works to operate the mechanism. Shouldn't h...

Re: Eddie J - DisinfectANT, Kinnettic Disassembly, Cilit BANG

Ok i made a RX PWM tester with arduino because Im struggling to get PWM signal from my nano RX ESC to power the weapons. I really need to know what is being output from the PWM pads. I suck at electronics, but the reason I started insect combat robotics was to learn something about electronics .. :)...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?

Man, I think I hit a brick wall with the PWM outputs :( I must have spent at least 8 hours tinkering with this to try and get the motors to move. I tried with 3 ESCs, 3 motors. The ESCs and motors were tested the with the Arduino analogWrite PWM outputs and they work fine like that. But when I conne...

I am king of procrastination! :| Finished building a new desk for CAD, painting and robot electronics.. but not the actual robot electronics. Desk porn NSFW :P I'm really loving the florescent tube lights on the underside of the cupboards. They are actually the best thing in world to see what you ar...
