Re: AWS56 - Bristol

Hi all. Due to personal circumstances it looks like I'm going to have to step away from robots for a fair bit. Finding the money and headspace for it is going to be very difficult for me for at least the rest of the year. It looks like it'll be best if I pull out of hosting this next event too. I kn...

Re: Increasing numbers

Re: Increasing numbers

Do you mean swapping one robot out for another mid-comp? Then it's not a fair comp. If your robot progresses, you have to deal with any damage it takes along the way as part of the challenge. If you have the option to swap it out for a reserve machine, then it's completely unfair. I don't personally...

Re: Increasing numbers

I'm absolutely not an advocate of 5) personally. I just flagged it up because it was mentioned before as a possible option.

Re: Team Roland build diary

I was very impressed with High Density Wedge Bot. A great first build and I'm glad you had fun and are planning new robots already :D

Re: Rule Debates

Done. No more on it please. It's driving me mad.

Back to George's point, thank you George, I've added it to the list for discussion.

Re: Rule Debates

I would say that ROBOX was legal in comp via a loophole in the rule as currently written, yes. But I also believe that what 2b is supposed to mean is pretty widely understood by everyone and that, in this case, it is being exploited away from intended meaning. 2b means that a complete robot (yes, al...

Re: Rule Debates

As I've said before, sir, I (and many others) believe rule 2b makes ROBOX against the rules*. We are currently in the process of accessing that rule to clear up the loophole used and make it as explicitly clear as possible. *EDITED ON BEHALF OF TEAM EFFORT - against what this rule is meant to convey...

Re: Rule Debates

I think that the last part of 2i is being misinterpreted. I remember when it was added and why. Its supposed to mean if the individual fleaweights want to also take part in the fleaweight competition (if there is one) as separate robots then they must conform to the fleaweight rules as well. It does...
